Uniglobal’s Excellence in Insurance Fraud Management conference addressed a series of topics of utmost importance for the insurance industry. Insurance fraud affects not only insurance companies but also their customers who have to pay higher premiums due to this criminal activity. Society as a whole is also a victim as insurance fraud is deeply intertwined with other forms of organized crime, from human trafficking to terrorism.
This Berlin conference held in Swissôtel Berlin and chaired by distinguished fraud expert Michael Brown (Direct Line Group) was unique in that it brought together fraud experts from Europe, Russia, and CIS. They came not only from the insurance sector but also from law enforcement, thus fostering international cooperation and communication which, as many participants emphasized, is of vital importance for combating fraud.
