Asia Pacific Microfinance Forum

31 Oct
2018

Summary:

Asia Pacific Microfinance Forum was the first edition organized in Singapore on 30th-31st October 2018 by Uniglobal. The event highlighted the fact that the Asia Pacific microfinance sector has been undergoing various transformations so that it is evolving from a niche segment into a mainstream impact investment topic. In that respect, the discussions mainly focused on the lessons learned, the ways in which the sector could be reimagined and practical suggestions for the future.

Thanks to our speakers, sponsors, partners, and delegates who represented the pioneering microfinance investors, banks, MFIs, international development finance institutions, NGOs, the media and service providers in the sector, Uniglobal’s inaugural edition of an annual Asia Pacific Microfinance Forum has already become one-of-its-kind financial inclusion and social impact investing gathering. Our aim is to foster long-term dialogue and help shape future trends in the microfinance sector in the Asia Pacific region.

After the first edition, Uniglobal is very ambitious to play a prominent role in establishing a dialogue among the sector players and help achieve a better financial inclusion in the region.
